Workin w Preston

Another fun filled day shootin with Preston. After that we went downtown and saw the processed snow at the Jordan Valley thing. Good times, a little busy or I'd tell you more of the exciting stuff like how I didn't realize the large at Cold Stone Ice Cream is like 1/3 in the cup and 2/3 hanging over the edge totally like a 1/2 gallon or something. I think everybody was staring and shaking their heads, thinking, "that's no way to loose the weight there Husky". I didn't eat it all...yet. Or if I had time I'd tell you about how Alec drank like 20 oz of Sprite and pee'd and pee'd and how he dropped trow at the Pizza place and almost violated exposure laws. I wish I had time to tell you about how we watched Heidi and I kept thinking, "This is the most depressing movie I've ever seen...what kind of crack was Disney smoking when they put this garbage out?" I mean seriously, 2 hours of a horrible life of tragedy and nobody really wanting or caring about the little orphan, and then 2 seconds at the end where the Grandfather decides he'll let her live with her....what a horrible flick!! I thought it was supposed to be a happy kid thing.

But it does kind of make me want to herd goats.

Preston & Krista

Also yesterday, I had the pleasure of getting some incredible shots of Preston & Krista who will be married in just a few weeks! I was still a little woozy from all the dust inhalation (see last post) but they didn't make TOO MUCH fun of me. Anyway, I got some really great stuff and they are such a fun couple I'm thrilled to be their photographer, I'll put the rest of the pictures up soon so check back in a couple days for a link to their gallery.

Floor Work Part II (With A Vengence)

So yesterday was payback! Dad came up and we showed that my studio floor we were serious and in the end we won! I think... Well, we inhaled so much sealant and grout dust that the floor may actually have the last laugh. You wouldn't believe how much dust we kicked up but I'm absolutley ecstatic already about the new floor (the old subfloor) which is lower so it's better for shooting into.
The floor was sagging pretty bad and the tile was cracking and getting worse so we had to take it out. The wood under the wet-wall (old kitchen sink and the bathroom shower & sink are on that wall) was all rotted out so I think we'll be taking out that whole wall next and re-walling the bathroom without the shower. Don't worry, we have a shower at the house. And I don't ever sweat...not like Dad anyway...phew!

Working from the ground up

I helped my dad out with some floor work down at his place yesterday. In a couple of days he's gonna help me with my floor woes. While I was playing "find Hoffa" Adam was shooting quarters...check this out: http://nathandspringer.com/index.php?showimage=117

What about Roger...

I know I didn't say anything when Uncle Roger was in town. Well, he was in town.
Actually I didn't want to say anything until he made it home because right after I dropped him at the airport I saw this dead bird hanging above me at the rain shelter dealie. Bad omen. But he made it....I think....

Garge Sale

It's weird how things that you sell in a garage sale have so little financial value but you can quickly think back on so much sentimental value that you have to just look away and not think about it. Happy meal toys that the kids played with so fervantly for 20 minutes. Baby clothes that they got to wear twice before they outgrew. Movies that you loved but alas...are VHS.

It can't get much better

What a great weekend! We started with the arrival of Uncle Rog, the End of Kindergarten, and then some Texas Hold-Em. On Saturday I shot a great wedding with Preston and they were just the most fun people you’ve ever been around.
Then we went to the ballgame on Sunday and the kids loved it! I thought they’d be whiny and hot and crying but they had the best time and want to do it again! The game ended in the bottom of the 11th with a 2-on homerun by Rico Washington….I got a great shot from our incredible seats (thanks again Dad!).
Then on Memorial Day we played 18 holes down in Cassville…it was the perfect temp and everything was great….the we had ribs and steak (once again, thanks Dad & Mom!) and I’m still full. I’m loving this time of year (right now).

Hail Viewer

Ok, so this shot isn't from today but it did hail today and I thought about this metal jungle gym thing Ave was in this one time last year and I thought, "Hmm, that's a good place to watch a hail storm." It's one of those "Hamburgler" things only nowhere near a McDonalds so I don't know what you'd call it. I'd probably call it Mr. Metal-Mouth-Man and the kids would think that sounds like a fun place to play. Right?

What a week

Avery's last week of Kindergarten, Uncle Rog is coming in town, and I'm too busy to tell you about stuff like how the other day I was filling out this form and for age I automatically started to write 16. SIXTEEN?!? What in the world? Then I kind of laughed and put a 2- and went "what ?#!" I'm out of my twenties? Then I had to think about which thirty I'm on. I need more sleep I guess. I'll tell you all about those crazy things later.
For now just know that I had the privilege of photographing Shannon and Brent's wedding Saturday and it was a blast. I even had help from Adam.
He's kind of crazy but he does a great job. Well I tell him he does a good job anyway...look at him, the dude is nuts! If you're reading this Adam, I'm just kidding. (I'm so not. Someone help me.)

Love ya Ma!

My Mom is the best. We are a lot alike in many ways so we stress each other out and make each other crazy and I think it’s because we love each other so much and want happiness and the best for each other. My Mom always emphasized God in our family and I remember the song she’d sing about “…if I should be a fireman when I grow up, I’ll be a Christian fireman when I grow up,” and at the time I kind of wanted to sing it “if I should be a gangsta when I grow up….” But now (especially since I’ve got my own kids) I really understand and appreciate that focus in life.
Now that she’s a Grand-Mother too, it’s neat to see how much more love she’s got even after I’ve drained it all out with my shinannagans (great word huh).
Anyway, it’s Mother’s day and I LOVE YOU MOM!!!

Computers...

...they can help us do great stuff but when a hard drive almost crashes and you can't do anything for awhile and you have to spend forever sweating about what is and isn't backed up 100% it can be a little stressful. (yes that's why I haven't posted).
Here's one of Brooke's paintings, she's really got skillz.

Little Rock

So we went to Little Rock this weekend to see my old roommate Richard and his family. They’ve got 2 boys and 2 girls and they are all wonderful and we had an absolute blast. Richard did a ton of work here for us on the new (old) house since he knows how to do everything and has every tool known to man and builds houses for a living. So in an attempt to pay him back for all the sweat and blood (he almost lost a finger), I brought all my good junk down there and got some really great images of them. They’re also in a new (new) house and Brooke (the wife) wants some good photos to decorate.

It rained so we went to the Capital and got some groovy stuff all over the place and then did a bunch indoor at their house. Awesome weekend.
